How to Make an ActionScript Close Button in Flash CS4
The Adobe Creative Suite 4 includes Flash CS4 that lets Web developers design animations and interactive elements for use on the Internet. Developers can use a special coding language known as ActionScript to make Flash CS4 items perform certain actions. For example, you can set up a button in Flash that will close a current item when a user clicks on it.

Launch the Flash CS4 and open the file in which you want to set up a new button. Click on the text or shape that you want to use for the button to select it.

Press the "F8" key and select "Button" in the box that appears.

Press "F9" to launch the Actions Panel.

Click on the "+" button and go to the Global Functions menu.

Open the "Browser/Network" sub-menu and select "fscommand."

Place your text cursor on line two of the ActionScript code.

Go to the "Commands for Standalone Player" menu and select the "Quit" command. This will convert the selected object into a "Close" button.
