How to Make a Photo Booth Out of Plywood
Whether you are creating a photo booth for a wedding, birthday party or family reunion, the sentiment is about capturing important moments with special people. A photo booth wall is the perfect front drop to any picture. Guests stand in the center of the picture frame, behind the wooden wall, so that the picture can be taken. You can decorate the booth wall in any material you desire, such as paint, wallpaper or additional accessories.

Instructions

1
Lay the plywood on a sawhorse. Place the picture frame 2 feet down from the top of the plywood and center it. Make pencil marks on the four corners inside the frame. Take the frame off and add 1 inch more to each pencil mark. Erase the old marks and use the new marks as your guide. Use the ruler to draw straight lines attaching each corner.
-
2
Hold the jigsaw firmly in your hand and cut around the entire square. This is the frame's opening. Discard the center board, and take the plywood off the sawhorse.

3
Place one of the beams on the sawhorse. Measure so that it stands 5 feet high. Cut using the jigsaw, and put the other beam on the sawhorse and repeat.
-
4
Measure a 70-degree angle off the top of each beam. Cut using a jigsaw. Stand the plywood up and place the beam's angle flush to the board. Make adjustments with the jigsaw until the beam's top lays flat onto the plywood. Repeat with the other beam.
-
5
Lay the ruler horizontally on the ground at the bottom of the beam. Draw a line on the beam using the pencil. Cut straight across with the jigsaw. This enables the beam to be level with the ground, and repeat on the other beam.
-
6
Take the two pieces you just cut off and measure 10 inches. Mark with a pencil and cut. These will be used as mounting blocks on the back of the plywood.
-
7
Nail the plywood to the first mounting block someplace in between the frame and the outside edge. Repeat on the other side with the second mounting block. Check to see that the nail heads are flush to the plywood.
-
8
Place the plywood back on the sawhorse. Paint the wood in the color you chose or add wallpaper paste. Measure the wallpaper, cut to size and carefully lay on the board, if applicable. Allow either the paint or wallpaper to dry overnight.
-
9
Stand up the plywood. Line up the first beam with the left mounting block. Drill a hole close to the top through the beam and into the mounting block. Place a 2-inch screw into the hole. Move down 4 inches and drill a second hole. Put the three-quarter-inch screw into this hole. Repeat these steps on the right side mounting block, making sure to use the 2-inch screw on top and the three-quarter-inch screw on the bottom hole.
-
10
Hold up the picture frame to the front of the board and place it over the hole. Add a strong glue all the way around the back side of the frame. Adhere the frame quickly to the board and press for three minutes.

Tips & Warnings
Ask the home store to cut the plywood for you.
Add floor molding to the top and bottom for a more finished look.
Add a waterproof sealant to the wallpaper and allow to dry over night.
A few other "real" framed pictures can go on the wall. This makes the wall look more realistic. (References 2)
Conversation and thought bubbles can be added if you choose to make several frames on one piece of plywood. (References 3)
Spray paint the frame(s) for a distressed, antique or other desirable look. (References 3)
Use a couple coats of paint or the plywood may show.
