Instructions

    • 1

Create a fabric wall to cover low pipes that run against an existing wall. Opt for a full fabric wall for consistency or a half fabric wall, since the pipes are low. Install a curtain rod against the solid wall and mount an existing curtain or large piece of fabric to it using curtain clips. For a half fabric wall, simply mount the curtain lower and use shorter fabric. Use thicker fabrics like canvas or velvet to provide texture and thickness. Slide the fabric or curtain over to hide the low pipes.

    • 2

Conceal low ceiling pipes with a fabric ceiling. Measure the length and width of the ceiling using a measuring tape. Cut a piece of fabric that’s double the width to account for the pipes. Staple the fabric in the ceiling corners and along the edges so it drapes down to hide the pipes. Stick to lightweight fabrics like fleece or thin cotton for easier mounting.

    • 3

Create a wrap to conceal the appearance of low pipes. Make the wrap from a pliable material, such as strips of fabric, tin foil or fake jungle vines. Tightly wrap the low pipes with the material to give them a colorful makeover.

    • 4

Use a decorative folding screen to conceal the pipes that are on a wall. Unfold and position it so it hides the pipes behind it.

    • 5

Install hollow beams over low pipes. Select a style that meshes with the rest of your basement décor. Slide the beam over the pipe. Hammer a nail upward, through the side of the beam, where it meets the ceiling. Install nails every foot along the beam on either side.
