How to Make Your Own Floormat

- Latex primer
- Latex exterior paint
- Water-based Polyurethane, satin finish

Measure the area for the floor mat. Determine how many sections you will need for the finished mat.

Assemble the mat sections. Coat the smooth side of the mat with primer. After applying the coat, separate the sections and allow the primer to dry.

Reassemble the mats and paint the base color. Apply two coats, then separate the mats and let them dry.

Reassemble the mats again, and paint the design over the base coat. When the paint is dry, apply two coats of polyurethane to protect the paint. Take the sections apart one last time. When they've dried, put them back together to complete the floor mat.
