How Do I Export a Sculpty From "Second Life" to Blender?

"Second Life," the application that allows you to meet and chat with other users in a virtual world, uses 3D models, known as sculpted prims, or "sculpties," to represent items and people in its virtual world. To use Blender, an open-source 3D modeling application, to create and edit sculpties, import existing sculpties from "Second Life" to Blender by installing a specific script.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the latest version of the Primstar script for Blender from DominoDesigns.info.

    • 2

Extract the contents of the downloaded archive into the "/.blender/scripts" folder inside the directory that contains your Blender installation.

    • 3

Launch Blender. Click on "File," select "Import" and click on "Second Life Sculptie." Use the file browser to navigate to the directory that contains your "Second Life" installation, open the "models" or "skins" directory, select the model you wish to import and click "Open" to load it into Blender.
