Handmade Heart Doilies Crafts

Creating your own handmade heart shaped doily card allows you to make something special for family and friends that cannot be duplicated or purchased. Designing a card for Valentine’s Day is an effective solution when you are working on a tight budget. This is a craft project you can create on your own or with a group of children, allowing each to create their own card for that special somebody on Valentine’s Day.

Things You'll Need

• 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch sheet of black construction paper
• 4-inch red heart doily
• 3-inch white heart doily
• 2-inch pink heart doily
• Craft glue
• Cotton swab
• White crayon

Instructions

1. Place the 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch sheet of construction paper on a flat surface running horizontal. Fold the left side up over the right side of the paper and line up the edges. Press down the center to form a tight crease on the paper.

2. Place the 4-inch red doily on a flat surface with the back side facing upward. Apply a small amount of craft glue to the center of the back of the doily and smooth across the entire back surface with a cotton swab.

3. Place the red doily to the front face of the black construction paper. The construction paper should be positioned running 8 1/2 inches from top to bottom and 5 1/2 inches from side to side, with the front half opening to the left. Place the red doily on the center front face and smooth over with hand.

4. Set the 3-inch white doily on a flat surface with the back side facing upward. Apply a small amount of craft glue to the center of the back of the doily and smooth across the entire back surface with a cotton swab.

5. Place the white doily on the center of the red doily face, and smooth over with your hand. Wipe away any excess glue from the surface to create a strong bond.

6. Place the 2-inch pink doily on a flat surface with the back side facing upward. Apply a small amount of craft glue to the center of the back of the doily and smooth across the entire back surface with a cotton swab.

7. Place the pink doily on the center of the white doily face, and smooth over with your hand. Wipe away any excess glue from the surface to create a strong bond.

8. Write a message to your valentine on the inside of the card using a white crayon.
