How to Make a Brick-Face Wall
A brick wall looks rustic and solid, but brick walls constructed with whole bricks are time consuming and costly to produce. One solution is to construct a brick wall using faux brick facing, which is less expensive. Professional bricklayers can install a faux brick-face wall for a fee, or you can install the wall yourself using inexpensive supplies from a hardware or home improvement store. This also enables you to customize the look of the brick-face wall. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Sand down the surface of the wall using an electric sander with a medium-grain sanding belt. This creates an even surface on the wall.
-
2
Vacuum the wall with a shop vacuum to remove debris from the area.
-
-
3
Spread a 2-inch-thick layer of rough grout over the entire wall using a trowel. Apply the grout in an even layer.
-
4
Press faux brick facings halfway into the grout, spacing each brick facing one-half inch apart. Grout will squish up in between the bricks.
-
5
Scrape the trowel over the entire brick-covered wall to smooth the excess grout into areas that contain less grout.
-
6
Wipe off the grout from the front of each brick facing with a washcloth.
-
7
Allow the brick-face wall to air dry for 18 to 24 hours.
