Instructions

    • 1

Use an old sheet or towels on the table to protect the cooktop’s and table’s surface. Unpack the new cooktop and place it face down on a covered table.

    • 2

Pull the stove away from the wall, and unplug the stove from the electrical outlet. Ensure there’s enough room to open the oven door.

    • 3

Open the oven door. Under the edge of the cooktop, two screws are on each end to attach the cooktop to the stove. Remove the two screws with a Phillips-head screw driver. Set the screws aside. Close the oven door.

    • 4

Lift the existing cooktop without removing it from the stove. Unplug the ground wires at the back of the stove hooked to the cooktop’s burners. Carefully lift the cooktop off of the oven. Place it on a table with the ground wires and the underneath side of the cooktop facing up.

Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to unscrew the burner plates off the old cooktop. Moving the burners and wiring requires two people. Carefully move the burners from the old cooktop into the proper burner holes of the new cooktop. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to screw each burner unit into place on the new cooktop.

Flip the new cooktop over with the cooktop burners facing up. Place the new cooktop onto the hinges on the stop of the stove. Lift the cooktop and plug in the ground wires to the back of the stove.
