Instructions

    • 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 2

Add 1 cup of melted unsalted butter to a large bowl. Add 2 cups of fully packed brown sugar to the bowl, and mix well with a whisk.

    • 3

Mix two large eggs and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract in a small bowl. Add the egg mixture to the sugar mixture. Stir everything together until blended.

    • 4

Add 1 1/2 cups of sifted all-purpose flour to another bowl, along with 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of salt, and mix well. Then add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture.

    • 5

Use an electric mixer set on low speed, to incorporate the flour and sugar mixtures together.

    • 6

Add 1 cup each of semisweet chocolate morsels and butterscotch morsels to the batter. Incorporate the morsels using a silicone or rubber spatula.

    • 7

Lightly coat a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with vegetable oil. Add the brownie batter to the baking dish, using the spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl.

    • 8

Bake the brownies for 45 minutes. Remove the brownie pan from the oven, and insert a toothpick into the center to check for doneness. If the toothpick comes out clean, they are done. Place the brownies back in the oven for five minutes, if necessary.

    • 9

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 20 minutes, then transfer to a cutting board and cut into squares.
