Check for water leaks. These may appear as drips before the unit is turned on, or as jets of steam while the unit is in operation. Steam should not emit from anywhere but the nozzle end of the hose. Depending on the leak, it could cause a loss of pressure or steam during use.

Check that the unit is plugged into a working, three-pronged outlet. Try plugging something smaller into the outlet, such as a lamp, to be sure it is working properly.

Set the steamer upright when in use and avoid tilting it as this may cause water to spill out and empty the canister.

Use only Tobi brand attachments with your Tobi steamer, as other brands may not fit properly and could cause malfunction, failure of the unit or injury to the user.

Keep the steam hose from kinking or flattening during use, and avoid laying it flat on the floor. This could cause condensation to build up inside the hose, resulting in water spots on your fabrics.
