1
Draw a 6-inch circle on a sheet of beige-colored stationery paper. Use a compass with a pencil attachment to lightly draw a symmetrical circle. Cut out the circle. Remove any pencil marks from the perimeter of the circle using an eraser.

2
Bend the circle in half across the center; don’t press a crease along the fold. Hold the paper in the center of the rounded edge. Bend the two corners, which are the only angles of the semicircle, so that they meet on the opposite side of the rounded edge. Allow a crease to form horizontally across the middle of the circle between the corners.

3
Let go of the corners of the paper so the paper returns to the semicircle shape. Cut a 3-inch strip of double-sided tape. Place the tape lengthwise across the outside of the straight edge of the semicircle so it crosses with the crease. Bend the corners of the semicircle again so the tape sticks to itself to hold the fortune cookie shape.

4
Cut a one-quarter-by-3-inch strip from the remaining beige stationery. Write a message for the fortune on one side of the strip. Add a list of five random numbers to the other side of the paper for the recipient’s lucky numbers, if desired. Slip the paper inside the fortune cookie so it is concealed.
