Troubleshooting a Maytag Gemini MER6765
Your Maytag Gemini kitchen range is one of the most important home appliances you own, and if problems begin, you might not be able to prepare a meal. Troubleshooting the oven involves making a cursory inspection of the power supply and other parts capable of preventing the oven from working as expected. In some cases, minor adjustments restore the oven to normal working order. More serious problems may require the attention of a technician. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Check the power supply. One of the fuses or circuit breakers protecting the oven could have blown, cutting off the electricity. Replace any blown fuses in your home's fuse box with a suitable replacement, or reset the circuit breakers and try the oven again.

2
Make sure you are using the controls properly. It's easy to make a mistake, particularly if you are unfamiliar with the oven. Push the cooktop control knobs in and turn them to begin cooking. Press the "Bake" or other mode touch pad followed by the "More" or "Less" buttons to select a temperature. Avoid the "Delay" and "Cook & Hold" buttons if you want to use the oven immediately.

3
Make sure the oven controls and door are unlocked. Maytag Geminis can be locked to prevent children from opening the appliance or operating the controls. Hold the "Cancel" and "Cook & Hold" buttons together for three seconds until "OFF" flashes on the digital display.
-
4
Cancel "Sabbath" mode. Maytag Gemini ovens can be made to comply with Jewish food preparation laws whenever necessary. Press and hold the "Clock" button for 5 seconds until the word "Sabbath" appears on the display, and try the oven again. Sabbath mode automatically turns off after 72 hours if left untouched.

5
Look for the error code on the oven's display. In the event of an electrical or component failure, the oven computer flashes the "Bake" and "Lock" icons. Press "Cancel" and try to use the oven again. If the error code persists, unplug the oven and wait a few minutes before reconnecting the power and trying again. See the "Service & Repair" Resource link if the problem persists.
