How to Send a PS3 Game Internationally

When taking orders while operating an online place of business, you will often come across international clients ordering items that must be shipped overseas. This can also be the case with online auction sites such as eBay. Shipping a PS3 video game internationally is much the same as shipping any small package, although some countries may prohibit certain video games from being sent over.

Things You'll Need

  • Pen
  • Scotch tape (if desired)

Instructions

    • 1

Fill out the address portion of the bubble mailer with a pen. PlayStation 3 game cases are smaller than PlayStation 2 game cases, but be sure to use a bubble mailer that measures at least 6 inches by 8 inches. Write down the international address exactly as it was given to you by your intended recipient. Place the PS3 game in the bubble mailer and seal it. If you'd like, you can affix a piece or two of Scotch tape to secure the flap.

Charge your recipient the proper amount for shipping. Use a digital scale to determine the package's weight; if you can't find a digital scale large enough, bring it to a local post office and ask to use their scale. Contact different international shippers to get a shipping quote based on your package's weight. Some shipping companies, like the United States Postal Service, have online calculators that will provide instant shipping quotes based on the destination country, type of package being sent and package weight.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use separate bubble mailers for each PS3 video game case when shipping internationally. If shipping multiple mailers, combine all mailers into one box that provides about one inch of room around the bubble mailers. Pack the PS3 game bubble mailers in with packing peanuts or a similar filler to keep packages safe during transit. (See References 4, third paragraph)

  • PS3 games are region-free, so there are no international compatibility issues between PS3 consoles and regional versions of games as there are for some Xbox 360 or Wii games.

  • Research video game laws in the country that you're shipping the PS3 game to. Some countries have banned certain games for the PlayStation 3; for example, Australia has banned "Silent Hill: Homecoming," "Dark Sector" and "Fallout 3" in the past, although the ban has since been lifted for the latter two. You may be subject to penalties or fines if your package is declared illegal by international customs in another country.
