How to Read a Newsgroup on WebTV

Each WebTV newsgroup can hold up to 1500 postings. They can go back a few days, depending on how many posts are being submitted each day.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • WebTV
  • Televisions
  • Internet Access
  1. Step 1

    Go to the Home screen.

  2. Step 2

    Click Community.

  3. Step 3

    Click Discuss.

  4. Step 4

    Click All Groups.

  5. Step 5

    Click a topic that interests you.

  6. Step 6

    Click on a newsgroup.

  7. Step 7

    Click on a post to read it.

  8. Step 8

    Click on each reply under the post to see how people responded. The replies are grouped under each post, so you can follow the "thread" of discussion.

Tips & Warnings
  • The color of the postings changes after you've read them so you can keep track of which ones you've already looked at. The unread posts are blue. After you read one, it turns purple.
