How to Get Your Book on the Nook

Although the Barnes & Noble Nook e-reader is primarily used to read books purchased through the Nook market, it can also be used to read books that the user manually adds to the device. Nook users can add books in formats such as PDF and ePub, and then view these books as they would view any normally purchased book. Getting your book on the Nook merely requires connecting the Nook to your computer and copying the book to the appropriate folder.

Instructions

    • 1

Save your book in a Nook supported format. It is recommended to save your book as a PDF or ePub document.

    • 2

Connect your Nook to the computer by using the Nook’s included USB cable.

    • 3

Navigate to the folder that contains the book you want to put on your Nook. Right click the file and select “Copy.”

    • 4

Click “Start,” and then click “Computer.”

    • 5

Double click the “Nook” icon under “Drives with Removable Storage:” to access the Nook’s documents folder.

    • 6

Right click within the Nook folder and select “Paste” to get your book on the Nook. Wait for the transfer dialog box to disappear and then disconnect your Nook from the computer. The book you transferred appears in your documents library.
