Tips & Warnings
This type of touch-control switch will only work if your lamp has a metal light bulb socket. A touch-control switch will not operate on lamps that have ceramic or plastic sockets.
A touch-control switch may not work in all lamps or in all home electrical systems. If you plan on converting several lamps, purchase one switch first to ensure it will operate correctly.
Many types of touch-control switches require the use of incandescent light bulbs. Compact fluorescent bulbs or bulbs that have transformers cannot be used, or damage to the bulb or the lamp could occur.
