A sump pump is used to drain water away quickly. The primary places where they are used include swimming pools, basements and any location prone to flooding during heavy rains.   • Duct tape
  • Replacement hose
  • Phillips screwdriver

Instructions

      Wrap duct tape around the hole in the hose. If the hose has been previously repaired using duct tape, remove the old tape before beginning the new repair. This is a fast but temporary repair.

      Remove the damaged hose. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the clamp holding the hose in place. Remove the hose and discard.

      Attach an undamaged hose to the sump pump. Using the previously removed screws, insert the replacement hose into the clamp and screw the clamp firmly into place.
