Create a design for the T-shirts by drawing it on paper. Create a design for the front and back of the T-shirt. Include in your design the name of the fundraiser, team name, sponsors, year and any logo associated with the event or team.

Make copies and pass out the design to everyone who will be decorating the shirts. This will ensure that the T-shirts are consistently decorated.

Insert a piece of cardboard between the sides of the T-shirt. This will prevent the paint from seeping through to the other side.

Use fabric paint to create the design. You can also sew on buttons, ribbons and other decorations to enhance your design.

Set the T-shirts on a flat surface to dry. When decorating both the front and back of the shirt, you will need to let one side dry before decorating the other side. Let the fabric paint dry for the amount of time given on the bottle’s instructions.

Tips & Warnings
Use white T-shirts for you fundraiser. Any color will show up on a white background. Darker shirts will show only bright colors.
Wash the T-shirts before decorating or use preshrunk shirts. Do not use fabric softener.
If the T-shirts are for a charity tournament, ask a crafts store manager if the store can donate the T-shirts or fabric paint for the tournament.
