How to Be a Moderator for Meez
The Meez online community provides a safe chat environment for teens and young adults. By creating a Meez – an avatar that you can bring to life and use within the community – you will have access to the Meez chat rooms, forums and games. The website is monitored by moderators, known as “Meez Mentors,” who are volunteers. Meez Mentors can report and remove users who don't adhere to the website rules. To become a Meez mentor, you must perform certain tasks that demonstrate that you are ready to take on the responsibility.

Visit Meez.com and create your Meez avatar. It doesn't necessarily have to look like you, but it's a necessary step to becoming active in the Meez community and being considered for a mentor position. The Meez community is free to join and you can begin participating in forums and games as soon as you set up an account.

Read the Meez community rules carefully so you fully understand the terms of use. These rules include common sense guidelines prohibiting harassment or bullying other members and ensuring that all posted material is appropriate for a PG-13 level. Language must be kept clean and polite. Some Meez-specific rules include a requirement that members stay on topic in the forums.

Become an active participant in the Meez community. Meez mentors are typically chosen from a pool of active posters who demonstrate a level of decorum and authority among other Meez. That means posting often, following the rules when posting and proving that you can be helpful and accurate when interacting with other Meez participants.

Report at least 15 to 20 Meez community violations per month. The violations must be valid infractions committed by other Meezers, such as using profane language, being sexually explicit or harassing other members. Use the report button directly below an offending forum post or contact Meez admins directly. This proves that you notice infractions and you exercise the proper leadership and judgment when reporting violations.

Sign in to your Meez account and apply from within your account to become a mentor. Include information about the age of your account, how you help the community and why you would be a good moderator or mentor on the site. Meez admins, who are paid staffers, will review your application and decide whether mentor privileges will be accorded to you.
