Col Needham is the founder of IMDB.

The Internet Movie Database message boards provide a place where you can share links and format them to be indented. Though the messages boards at IMDB don't allow full Hypertext Markup Language, they do have a limited markup language that allows you to indent links that you share in posts on the message board. You can also format links so that they are clickable or make the links appear in bold font by using the IMDB message board markup language.

Instructions

    • 1

Type: "" at the beginning of a link and "" at the end of a link. Include the full path for the URL, so it would be "http://www.imdb.com" rather than "imdb.com."

    • 2

Before the first link in the list type "
" and after the last link in the list type "
" to indent the list of links as a block quote.

    • 3

Preserve any special formatting for text that you type, like indentations, by using the "[pre]" tag. Type "[pre]" before the text and then type in all the formatting you want for the text, including indentations. Type "[/pre]" after the formatted text. The text between the tags will appear exactly as you typed it. Note that if you type links this way they will not be clickable.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the "
" tag to wrap spoilers in your posts. People will have to choose to read the text if they want to.
