How to Separate an Entryway with Curtains
Curtains control lighting, affect the temperature and provide privacy when it is needed. They may also serve as attractive temporary or permanent room dividers. Placed in an entryway, curtains create the illusion of a division point while allowing you entrance into the room. Curtains add height to a room, and pooling the bottom of the curtains adds an air of drama. Use patterned or solid-colored curtains in your decor to help pull the theme of a room together. 1
Use a measuring tape to measure the entryway width and length. Write down the measurements. Take the written measurements with you when you go shopping.
-
2
Purchase curtains that are long enough to reach the floor and pool, if you desire. Pick curtains wide enough to stretch across the opening. Buy pocket curtains, not the hooked type. Select the hardware you need to hang the curtains. You will need a decorative curtain rod long enough to reach across the entryway. Purchase brackets and nails too.
