How to Do Makeup With Hearts on the Eyelids
"The eyes are the window to the soul," once said an old proverb. Decorative eyelid makeup is an essential way to open the door to your soul. What better way to accomplish this than with eye makeup shaped like a heart. The trick to the hearts is to use both the top and bottom of your eye to incorporate the eye itself as the body of the heart. Give your eyes pop and let your heart and soul shine with just the right application. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Stand in front of a well-lit mirror. Sit in a chair if possible to keep your body as steady as you can.
-
2
Pick up an eye shadow brush with your dominant hand. Rub it over a light pink or red shadow powder. Tap the stem of the brush two or three times on the side of the powder container to remove any excess.
-
-
3
Close your right eye. Avoid squeezing your eye -- keep it closed gently. Sweep the brush over your eyelid from left to right. Work the brush in small, circular motions to give your makeup an even coat all the way up to the crease under the brow bone.
-
4
Pick up a second brush. Coat the brush with dark red or burgundy eye shadow. Tap the brush to remove any excess.
-
5
Move the brush over the crease under the brow of your closed eye. Work the brush in a half-arc motion: sweeping from the top and center of the brow crease down to the outside point of the eyelid. The darker application will make your heart more pronounced.
-
6
Draw the top of the heart -- similar to a curvy letter "M" shape -- over the surface of your closed eyelid with an eyeliner pencil.
-
7
Draw the outline of the bottom of the heart -- similar to a wide letter "V" shape -- under your eye. Draw one line from the outer side point of the eye, down to the top of your cheek bone. Draw the second line from the inner side point of the eye, down to meet the first line.
-
8
Shade the inner portion of the letter "V" shape with pink eye shadow. Repeat Steps 2 through 8 for your left eye.
