How to Make Rabbit Hutch for Several Rabbits
If you keep rabbits outside, you need a rabbit hutch. The hutch offers protection for the animals by keeping predators out and keeping the rabbits safe inside. Most hutch designs use mesh sheets that let air flow in and out. The mesh sheets keep the bunnies from overheating and give the animals access to natural sunlight. Design your hutch based on the number of rabbits and the size of each one. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Lay the mesh wire on a flat surface, such as a table or the ground. Measure three pieces of wire mesh, making each piece approximately 24-inches long and 14-inches wide. The pieces serve as the sides and bottom of the hutch.

2
Cut the three pieces of mesh from the roll. Arrange the pieces in a box shape by placing one piece on the bottom and the other two pieces on the side. You should have a large box with empty spots on the front, back and top.

3
Attach hog rings on each side of the metal, placing one ring every four or five inches along the sides. The hog rings connect the sides to the bottom. Place the 16-gauge mesh on one of the open sides and unroll until you have a piece large enough to cover the open areas.

4
Cut off the excess mesh with the wire cutters. Adjust the larger mesh so that it sits even with the smaller mesh and slip the hog rings through the open areas of the larger mesh. Turn the cage around so that the larger mesh becomes the bottom of the hutch.
-
5
Create the door to the hutch by cutting out a small rectangle, large enough for your rabbit. Cut a larger hole on one side of the hutch, which lets the animal venture into the neighboring hutches. Cut a piece of wire mesh large enough that it covers the hole on the front with a few inches to spare. Attach hog rings to one side of the mesh piece and to the side of your hole, which creates the door.
-
6
Repeat the process with other pieces of wire mesh, creating additional hutches. Make as many hutches as you need for your rabbits and line the hutches beside each other. Attach the pieces together with the hog rings, which lets the rabbits move around inside.

Tips & Warnings
Make as many doors on the front of the hutches as you like.
Depending on the size of your rabbits, you may want a hutch of a larger size. Increase or decrease the size based on the size of your animals.
