How to Apply a Color Glaze to Reduce Brassy Hair
Healthy, shiny hair instantly enhances your appearance. Heat styling your hair, as well as dyeing or using harsh chemicals on it, can result in a brassy mane that looks dry and lacks luster. To temporarily refresh and revive your hair, use an over-the-counter color glaze. A color glaze coats the hair shaft with shine and color, and can easily be applied in the shower. Additionally, it's also more affordable than having a professional add a glaze to your hair. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Buy a color glaze at your local drug store or at a beauty supply store. If you've got colored hair, you can use a translucent glaze. If you want to deposit a hint of color on your hair to revive the dyed-on color or your natural hair color, use a glaze that's a similar color as your hair.
-
2
Wash and condition your hair with a shampoo for your hair type. If you have colored hair, use a shampoo and conditioner for colored hair.
-
-
3
Squeeze your hair strands to remove the excess water from them. If you have short hair, pat it with a towel.
-
4
Apply the color glaze to your damp hair. Use enough product so you can easily distribute from the roots to the tips of your hair. Leave the glaze treatment on your hair for the time recommended on the package instructions. This can be anywhere from three to five minutes, depending on the brand you use.
-
5
Rinse your hair with warm water and pat it dry with a towel. Style your hair as normal and repeat the treatment at least twice a week to combat brassiness and maintain shiny hair.
