1
Use your saw to cut a 15-inch circle out of a sturdy sheet of wood, such as cherry wood. This will be your base. You can use a handheld saw but an electric saw, such as a table saw, will be quicker. Be sure to follow the safety precautions outlined in the user manual for any electric saw you use.
-
2
Drill a hole in the center of the base with a bit that matches the dimensions of your threaded spindle and threaded rod.
-
-
3
Insert your threaded spindle in the hole.
-
4
Cut two more circles of wood. Cut them between 6 to 8 inches in diameter.
-
5
Drill holes in the center of the circles that match the width of the threaded rod.
-
6
Insert the threaded rod into the spindle at the base of the stand. The rod length depends on how tall you would like the stand to be.
-
7
Thread a spindle over the rod and tighten it at the level you would like the first tier of the stand.
-
8
Place one of the wooden circles over the spindle. The spindle will support the stand.
-
9
Place another spindle over the rod and tighten it at the next level where you would like the next tier.
-
10
Place the remaining circle over the spindle. You will now have two tiers of circular stands supported by the rod.
-
11
Paint the stand the color of your choice and let it dry.
-
12
Apply a coat of weather sealant over the stand with your paintbrush. This will keep your stand safe from the elements.
