How to Upload Videos to YouTube's Front Page
The first step to getting your video featured on the YouTube front page is by uploading it to your account. The video-sharing service doesn't allow users to directly upload videos to the front page, so you will have to heavily promote your video to your online social networks, send out emails to your mailing list and make sure your video is of high quality and noteworthy. Only the most viewed or best videos make it to the front page.

1
Go to youtube.com, then sign into your YouTube account and click the "Upload" link at the top of the next page. The "Upload" link appears on every page, so if you are already signed in, click it from anywhere on the site.
-
2
Click the "Upload Video" button on the next screen. When the dialog box appears, browse for the video on your local computer. Click the "Open" button. The video starts to upload immediately.

3
Fill in the video details on the same page, including the title, description, tags and category. The more detailed you are in the title and description, the easier it will be for users to find your video. A catchy title also may get you noticed and increase your chances of making the front page.
-
4
Click the username button at the top of the page and click "My Videos." Click the title link for the video you just uploaded. The video plays immediately. On this page, click the "Share" button and click one of the buttons for the social networking sites. You can choose from Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Promote your video on social networks to increase visibility.

5
Embed your video in a blog post if you maintain a blog. If you already have a website, there's a good chance you already have traffic that you can send over to the YouTube video page to get more views. In your blog post, encourage your visitors to leave a comment and click the "Like" button under the video. YouTube measures popular videos by views, likes, comments and shares.
-
6
Create a Facebook page to showcase your YouTube videos on a regular basis. If your first video doesn't make the front page right away, it doesn't mean it won't become popular in the future. Using a Facebook page to build up an audience helps drive more traffic to your future videos.
-
7
Email your friends and family a short message asking that they go to your YouTube page and view the recent video you uploaded. Make sure you provide a link in the email to make it easy for the person to get to your YouTube video page.
