Use the title menu in iMovie to make your text explode.

When creating a movie in iMovie, the program pre-installed in all Apple computers that allows users to create home movies, you can add text, including titles and credits. You can also use a number of text effects, such as scrolling text. If you are creating an action film or simply want your title to look more exciting, you can make your text explode by selecting the exploding title option under the Title menu in iMovie.

      Open iMovie.

      Open the video you wish to add the exploding text.

      Click on the title button on the toolbar. It has the image of a "T" on it.

      Scroll through the text styles until you see the one that resembles exploding text. Hover over the mouse to preview the explosion.

      Click on the title effect and drag it to where you want the exploding text to be in the timeline.

      Type the text you want to explode in the green bar on the top of the screen.

      Click the "Play" button to preview the text. When it is to your satisfaction, click "Done" to finish and save.
