The Jellyfish Mood Lamp, manufactured in Japan, is a novelty desk lamp or night light that holds water and several plastic jellyfish. The LED lights in the tank's top rotate through several colors and allow the user to stop the rotation at any color that suits his mood. Depending upon the size of tank ordered, the Jellyfish Mood Lamp comes with three to five jellyfish, an adhesive backing for the tank, the lights and a motor. The motor shuts off automatically after one hour. A common problem with the Jellyfish Mood Lamp is that bubbles adhere to the fish, causing them to gather at the top of the tank and not "swim."
Step 1
Fill the tank slowly with distilled water, not tap water, according to the instruction sheet included with the Jellyfish Mood Lamp.

Add 10 drops of liquid dishwashing soap to the water.
Step 3
Wash the jellyfish with dishwashing liquid and rinse them in water before adding them to the tank.
Step 4
Place the jellyfish in the tank upside down so that they sink to the bottom. It may take up to an hour for the bubbles to break and normally "swimming" to resume.
