How to Open Chat History Directly From the MSN Website

MSN was originally called "The Microsoft Network."

When you use MSN Messenger, all of your instant messages are archived on your computer (unless you've turned this setting off). However, if you're not on your computer, you won't be able to access these archives -- unless you've made the habit of archiving them into your Hotmail account yourself. If you've done this, you can access your Hotmail account in order to retrieve these archives and see your instant messaging chat history on any computer.

Instructions

    • 1

      Launch your Internet browser.

    • 2

      Go to MSN.com.

    • 3

Click "Sign In", located at the top right corner of the screen.

    • 4

Type in your Windows Live ID and your password, then click "Sign In."

    • 5

Click "Hotmail" in the top left corner of the screen.

    • 6

Select the folder you've used to archive your MSN Messenger chat history, then open the messages to view your chat history.
