How to Get Samsung Reality Off a Nam2 Without Losing Everything

Like many Samsung devices, the Reality SCH-U820 has the capability of supporting more than one phone number. Most carriers do not use this functionality, so if you accidentally change the NAM setting, the phone reboots into a blank profile and asks for a passcode. The default passcode is normally the last four digits of the phone number, but if NAM2 has no phone number, the passcode is a random series of four digits. Get the passcode using a key combination, then switch the phone back to NAM1 through the menus.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the dial pad screen and type "#43574357*" on the keypad. If the phone prompts you for a code, enter "000000."

    • 2

Select "System Info." The phone will show you a long string of 0s with four random numbers at the end. Write down the last four numbers.

    • 3

Turn the Reality off and back on again. Enter the random digits as the password. The phone will load up to the normal screen.

    • 4

Touch "Settings" and select "Phone Settings."

    • 5

Open "NAM Select" and choose NAM1. The phone will reboot into NAM1.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not change the information for NAM1. NAM1 is your normal phone number, and changing the information will cause the Reality to not make or receive phone calls.
