How to Hookup Qwest

Installing a Qwest Digital Subscriber Line, or DSL, package requires a DSL modem, RJ-11 cables and DSL filters. All of these individual components are supplied with the Qwest DSL self-installation kit. The DSL filters are required for every phone on the premises because they filter out the frequencies that the DSL modem needs to operate correctly. After the physical installation of the Qwest DSL service is complete an account must be made and associated with your DSL modem.

    • 3

Connect an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on the DSL modem to the Ethernet port on a computer.

    • 4

Power on the DSL modem and wait approximately two minutes for the signal to synchronize.

    • 5

Open a Web browser and attempt to visit any website. The browser is automatically redirected to the Qwest DSL modem setup page.
