How to Do a Curly Ponytail for Cheerleaders
Cheerleaders need to wear hair styles that will stay secure and out of the face during a lot of motion. Wear a curly hair style when you cheer by leaving the front of the hair straight and slick, but curling the section pulled back into a ponytail. Things You'll Need
- Heat protecting spray
- Flat iron
- Hair elastic
- Hair clips
- Spiral curling iron
- Hair spray
- Ribbon or decorative hair bow
- Anti-frizz serum

Spray all of your hair with a heat protecting spray. Divide hair into 3-inch sections. Use a flat iron to completely straighten your hair. Pull your straightened hair back into a ponytail near the middle of your head. Secure it tightly with a hair elastic.

Divide the hair in the ponytail into 1-inch sections. Pin up all of the sections but one. Use a heated spiral curling iron to curl that first section. Comb out the curl lightly with your fingers to loosen it. Repeat with the remaining sections of hair. Spray the curls with a strong-hold hair spray.

Tie a decorative ribbon or hair bow around the hair elastic to hide it. Place two to three drops of anti-frizz serum in one palm. Rub your palms together to distribute and divide the product. Run your hands over the front, straight section of your hair. Focus especially on the hairline. Spray the front of your hair with hair spray.
