How to Make a Female Superhero Costume
Don't spend a lot of money on a Halloween costume your daughter will only wear once. Create a homemade costume from inexpensive items or items you already have. Get creative and come up with a superhero that no one else will be dressed as. Your child may love the costume so much it will end up in the dress-up box later, to be worn numerous times.

1
Put together a base for the costume. This can either be a T-shirt and leggings of any color, or some tights and a leotard. Use what you have on hand to save money, or purchase inexpensive basics from a discount retailer.
-
2
Make a cape for the costume by cutting a large rectangle of material. This can be cotton cloth or felt. Apply self-adhesive velcro strips to two of the ends to make it easy to secure around your daughter's neck.

Choose a superhero emblem or letter and cut it out of the same fabric or fabric of a different color. Use the velcro or fabric glue to attach the emblem to the front of the shirt or leotard. Alternately, use a fabric marker to draw on the shirt or leotard. Add self-adhesive crystals to decorate the costume.

4
Embellish the costume by painting your daughter's face with creative designs or creating a mask with paint. Add bracelets, a mask, a tiara or headband, or glittery hair accessories. Add accessories based on the color of the costume and what kind of superhero your daughter wants to be. A belt can look cool around the waist.
