Deciding whom to invite to your party can be a delicate task. You will want to fill the room with your friends who enjoy socializing, mingling, meeting new people and having lively conversations. Most likely there will be a limit on the number of people that you’ll be able to invite, so pick and choose friends and acquaintances carefully.

1. Invite numerous different types of people and personalities. Having a room full of people who all have the same profession, such as attorneys, can make for a dull party. Mix and match your friend’s traits so that a wide variety of people are included.

2. Choose people who enjoy attending parties. Parties, events and gatherings can be more fun when the attendees actually want to be there.

3. Bring people together who are old friends yet don't have the opportunity to see each other too often. Their enthusiasm can spread throughout the party and help to create an upbeat, happy atmosphere.

4. Include people who have fascinating careers or lives to help ensure that interesting conversations will take place. For example, invite people who travel frequently, journalists, a chef or a restaurant owner and those who work in cutting edge industries, such as technology.

5. Stick to inviting people you get along with. You may think that parties are an ideal way to break the ice with someone whom you're not getting along with, but the idea can backfire and possibly ruin your entire party.
