How to Size a Bustier
Some bustiers can be worn under other garments to enhance the shape of your breasts beneath the clothing. Other types of bustiers are designed to be worn as outerwear, providing shape and form as well as fashion. Both types are designed to tighten around the body and push the breasts upward and together and create more lift and cleavage. In order to do so, the bustier cannot be too large, but may still work if it is slightly too small. Because the back is tightened using laces, bustiers are very adjustable. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Determine your bust size by measuring your bust around its fullest part with a seamstress's measuring tape. When having your bust measurement taken, stand squarely with your arms hanging naturally at your sides.
-
2
Measure your waist at its narrowest point, usually above the navel for women, and subtract 4 inches to get the appropriate measurement for a bustier. Record these measurements.

3
Consult the manufacturer's sizing chart and compare your measurements to their sizes. Use the cup size from your regular bras and the waist and bust measurement you just took. Purchase the bustier that is closest to your sizing, without being too large.
-
4
Place the bustier on your upper body with the laces at the back and the cups under your breasts. Have a helper tighten the lacing on the back so that it pushes and tightens your body into the desired shape.
