Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a squirrel trap from a pest control company, hardware store, feed supply or home improvement warehouse. A squirrel trap is similar in design to a cage except both sides of the cage have spring loaded doors that will close and hold an animal in.

    • 2

Survey your home to determine where they squirrel may be. Look for holes in wood and fecal matter, and listen closely to the walls .

    • 3

Position the trap in a location that you suspect squirrels frequent. Bait the trap with peanut butter to attract the squirrel and set the trap. Set the mechanisms carefully so that they will activate when the squirrel enters the cage to eat the peanut butter.

    • 4

Carefully carry the closed cage to an outside area and release the squirrel. Contact your local animal control department if you plan to release the squirrel in another location. Different states have different laws regarding the release of wildlife.
