How to Give a Food-Tasting Party for Your Product
Launching a new product means you have to get the word out to people and get them excited about buying it in the future. One way to do this is to give out a free sample. You can simply pass out free samples, or you can be more creative and throw a party. If your product is a food product, creating a food-tasting party featuring your product will not only introduce it to possible customers but give them real-world uses for it as well. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Choose a date and send out invitations. These invitations can be mailed, but email or using an electronic invitation service is also acceptable.
-
2
Choose two to three recipes using your new food product. Write out a list of all ingredients needed and shop for them a few days in advance of the party.
-
-
3
Choose a theme for the party, if desired. This may be optional, but a theme can create a more memorable occasion. If you do decide to go with a theme, add the decorations or other needed items to your shopping list.
-
4
Make gift bags to give out to all who attend. In the gift bag, all attendees should be a free sample of the item, literature about your new product and coupons, if available. You can also include copies of the recipes served during the tasting party.
-
5
Choose music for the party. If you have a theme, make a playlist or CD to play that ties in with the theme.
-
6
Cook your chosen recipes on the day of the party. Lay them out on a buffet, sideboard or table. Label them with a card or small sign saying what it is and how your product ties into it.
-
7
Give a small speech about the product while people are sitting at the table eating. Explain each recipe and how your product makes it so good. Invite them to take a gift bag with them and share the sample and/or coupons with others.

Tips & Warnings
If you have a small gathering, you can serve the guests at the table as if they were in a restaurant instead of doing it buffet style where they get their own. This only applies if you have a table big enough to seat all of your guests at once. If not, do it buffet style instead.
