How to Change the Wick on an Aladdin Kerosene Heater
An Aladdin kerosene heater is a home heater. Keep your eye on it when it's operating; never leave it unattended. You will need to change the wick in the unit from time to time in order to keep the machine running properly. Unplug the unit before attempting to replace the wick. Does this Spark an idea?

Place the unit on a flat surface, such as a coffee table. Remove the gallery assembly and then gently remove the burner.

Twist the outer wick tube by twisting counterclockwise and pulling upward. You will find the tube in the middle of the burner under a cup with holes, called a flame spreader.

Turn the knob on the side of the tube and take out the old wick. Now place the new wick on the burner base in the two slots.

Pull the paper tabs on the wick and then turn the burner upside down. Pull on the paper tabs. Stop pulling the paper tabs when you see the bottom of the wick begin to pass through the center.

Grasp the top of the wick with one of your hands and pull it slightly while turning the knob on the side to adjust the height.

Lock all parts back into place before using the heater.
