How to Make an Arrow Icon in Windows
A keyboard on a PC running the Windows operating system is capable of creating a number of different symbols. With the use of your "Alt" key and some codes your computer is set to recognize, you can insert smiley faces, hearts, sunbursts and arrows into your text documents. Alt codes can also be used to make an arrow on most Web pages, such as a blog, social networking site or message board.

Tips & Warnings
You can also create up and down arrows using "Alt" codes. Up arrow codes are Alt + 30 for the wedge arrow: ▲; and Alt + 24 for the line arrow: ↑. Downward codes are Alt + 31 for the wedge arrow:▼. Make the downward line arrow with Alt + 25: ↓.
If you have a laptop with no number lock, alt codes won't work on your keyboard. In that case, you must copy and paste an arrow from a website using your keyboard's clipboard function.
