How to Override cPanel Global Settings for a PHP Session

The cPanel Web server management software controls the PHP settings for the entire server with the main "php.ini" settings file. You can, however, set up cPanel so that certain sites have their PHP session settings overridden. Make this change from the cPanel administrative interface for the site that you want to change the settings for.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to the cPanel server.

    • 2

Click "Advanced Settings" in the main menu, then click the "Local PHP Settings" button.

    • 3

Click on the box next to the "Enable Local PHP Settings" option.

    • 4

Type in the PHP session settings you want to use, then select which website on your cPanel installation you want to apply the settings to.

    • 5

Click "Save" to save the settings and override the Global settings.
