How to Install a PBZ on Picasa

A file with the ".pbz" extension is most likely a Picasa Button Zipfile, which contains the necessary code for Picasa to generate a custom button along with the actual image of that button. These buttons are designed to expand the functionality of Picasa, such as uploading images to Facebook. However, double-clicking the PBZ file isn't enough to install it on Picasa. You have to place the PBZ file in the "buttons" folder of your Picasa installation folder so Picasa can recognize the file and add the button.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click the file with the ".pbz" extension and click "Cut."

    • 2

Click the "Start" button, then type "Picasa" on the "Search programs and files" text box. Right-click the Picasa shortcut that appears on the results and click "Open file location" to bring up a folder containing the Picasa executable files and other essential files.

    • 3

Double-click the "buttons" folder to see the other Picasa buttons installed. Right-click on an empty space of that folder and click "Paste" to move your PBZ file to that folder.

    • 4

Launch Picasa so the program can verify the file and place it next to the other buttons.
