How Do I Dye Jeans Like a Designer?
Dyeing jeans like a designer sounds like it might take some hidden artistic talent or creative gene you may not possess. Judging from some of the designer jean prices on the rack, it can often cost hundreds of dollars to get jeans that have been dyed with special colors, patterns or just simply to appear worn in. Thankfully, you can channel your own inner designer and dye your jeans at home for a fraction of the cost. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Create tie-dye style designs on your jeans using rubber bands. Grab small sections of the denim and create a twist or crinkled section of the denim and wrap it with a rubber band. Create a pattern or just a section of the denim haphazardly.
-
2
Mix Rit dye in your color of choice in a large stainless steel container, following the instructions on the box. Once the stainless steel container is used for dye, it should not be used for food.

-
3
Submerge the jeans into the dye and let them sit there until you have achieved the right intensity of color. A short amount of time will result in a light tint of color whereas a much longer period of time will create a very vivid, intense color.
-
4
Take your jeans out of the dye and rinse them with cold water.
-
5
Remove all the rubber bands and check out the design you've created.
