Speaker docks can be used to play and charge the iPod touch.

In addition to playing your iPod touch -- or any iPod for that matter -- many new speaker docks that are designed with iPods in mind will also charge your iPod while it plays. Oftentimes these speaker docks will charge your iPod touch with nothing more than the equipment that comes with the unit. Even if you are not listening to your iPod touch it will continue to charge as long as it is docked on the speaker dock and the speaker dock is plugged into an AC outlet.
