How to Make a Wire Balloon Stand
A wire balloon stand holds helium and nonhelium balloons erect so that the balloons -- whether they be for a party or a marketing attraction -- do not droop. Wire balloon stands give off the appearance that the balloons are standing straight and tall, and can be made to fit any number of balloon sizes. Whether you are using standard, small or large balloons, design a wire balloon stand that will fit the balloons and give them a more professional appearance.
Things You'll Need

1
Cut 2 feet of 3.92mm metal wire with wire cutters.
-
2
Shape the metal wire with pliers. Begin at the one end of the 2-foot wire and identify it as the top. The opposite end of the wire is the bottom of the stand. Hold the pliers in your hand and apply them to the top of the wire. Bend the wire to mold the top into a circle. The circle sits atop the wire, perpendicular to the straight middle section, and should be approximately 1-inch in diameter. This circle is where the balloon sits.

Drill a narrow hole in the center of a 2-by-2-inch block of plywood with an electric drill. Fit the bottom of the metal wire stand into the hole that you make with the drill. The block of plywood acts as the base for the stand, so that the metal wire may stand straight.

4
Position a balloon on top of the circular top, stringing the balloon thread through the circle. Tie the balloon string around the bottom of the wire stand. Place the metal wire stand with the base in a desired location.

Tips & Warnings
Affix the wire bottom of the stand to the plywood block by adding epoxy to the bottom of the wire as you insert it into the wooden block.
