How to Make Shower Curtain Rings Glide

Shower rings that don't slide are frustrating.

When taking a shower, it can be frustrating to pull your shower curtain aside, turn on the water and step inside, only to find the curtain won’t easily slide back into place. Save yourself the worry that your bathroom will get soaked by ensuring the rings that hold the shower curtain glide easily and effortlessly across the rod.

Things You'll Need

• White soap
• Candle
• Ski or snowboard wax
• Easy-glide shower rings

Instructions

1. Open a clean bar of white soap. Push the shower curtain aside so it’s in an open position. Rub the white bar of soap across the length of the shower rod to provide lubrication so the rings glide easily.

2. Use a clean, white candle to provide another form of lubrication along the shower rod. Rub the bottom of the candle across the shower rod. Ski or snowboard wax provide similar results.

3. Purchase easy-glide shower rings, which come with a span of ball bearings across the top. The ball bearings roll as you move the shower curtain. Slide the rings in place over the bar and install the curtains to use.
