How to Make an Iron-On Embroidered Applique
Appliques are a quick way to add embellished details to a garment or accessory. Embroidered iron-on appliques are commonly used on uniforms, like those of the military or girls and boys clubs, to represent rankings or merits. In the fashion world, embroidered iron-on appliques have been used to decoratively cover up holes and tears, as well as a way to wear personality and beliefs literally on one's sleeve. DIY versions of these appliques can be made using an embroidery machine and iron-on adhesive.
