Troubleshooting the Lennox CB30M

The Lennox CB30M is a specific model of air handler that is used in your home as part of a complete HVAC system. An air handler helps to circulate conditioned air throughout your house. The Lennox website claims that its air handlers reduce energy costs while providing high quality air to each room of the house. If you find that your CB30M unit is not operating, you can usually fix the problem yourself by trying a handful of different troubleshooting remedies. Call in for service if the air handler still doesn’t work when you’re finished.

Instructions

1. Check that all of the electrical disconnect switches are set to “On” if the unit is not working.

2. Replace any blown fuses or reset circuit breakers that have tripped.

3. Check the room thermostat temperature selector to ensure the temperature setting is where you want it to be, if the air isn't blowing when you want it to, or isn't shutting off. Increase or decrease the temperature if it is set too far one way or the other.

4. Inspect the air filter and clean it if it is dirty and the unit fails to operate, or the airflow is uneven. Lift off the bottom panel at the front of the unit to expose the filter, then slide the filter out. If the word “washable” is on the filter, wash it off with a clean cloth and mild soap and water. Rinse with clean water then let it dry before replacing it. Check your filter every month and clean or replace it when dirt and debris are visible.

5. Trim down any shrubs and clear away debris from the screen on the outside of the unit to help it run more efficiently and save energy.

6. Ask your dealer to show you where the main condensate drain is located, and where it runs so you can check it and remove obstructions. The drain collects condensate as the unit removes humidity from the air inside the house.
