Instructions

    • 1

Press the reset button located on the center of the control panel on the Goodman furnace.

    • 2

Verify the power supply to the furnace by plugging the power cord in firmly. Replace or reset the circuit breaker or fuse if necessary.

    • 3

Disconnect power to the furnace if the light keeps blinking four times, which indicates an open limit switch possibly due to overheating.

    • 4

Check the area around the furnace and clear away any objects that might block proper air flow and open all return air vents throughout the home. Pull out the air filter and replace it with a new air filter, if the current filter is disposable; clean a permanent filter with warm, soapy water, rinse well and replace it in the furnace once completely dry.

    • 5

Restore power and listen for the sound of the gas igniting, usually within about one minute of restoring power. If you do not hear the gas or the ignitor is not glowing, turn off the furnace and contact Goodman or a certified technician for service because the igniter or flame sensor might be damaged or broken.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you smell gas, shut off the gas supply valve and the furnace. Leave the home immediately and call your gas company for assistance.
