DIY Frame With Black Plastic Paper Clips

DIY Frame With Black Plastic Paper Clips thumbnail
Use paperclips to create a picture frame.

Frames are easy to make with paperclips as are photo stands. Simply pull a paperclip open and use one side as the base and attach another paperclip to the other end to hold a photo. Black paper clips around the edge of the photo will create a simple, modern and elegant design. Paperclip frames are also inexpensive and serve as homemade gifts for baby and wedding showers.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a photo face-up on the card stock paper and place the plastic cover over the front. Cut the plastic, photo and card stock in the shape you want. For example, cut a round shape and use the paperclips to create flower petals in the shape of a flower frame. Alternatively, leave the photo in its original form and trim the plastic and card stock to match.

    • 2

Press paperclips over the plastic, photo and card stock backing to hold it together. Add a paperclip every inch or place them close enough that they are touching. Angle the paperclips so they don't cover the photo or don't press the paperclips all the way down; instead, leave them standing up around the edge of the photo as if they were flower petals.

    • 3

Bend two or three paperclips at the bottom of the photo so half of them angle out to create a base. Alternatively, create a flower stem with paperclips that is attached to a paperclip in the bottom-center of the photo. Dab glue where each paperclip attaches so the stem stays rigid. Hang the flower frame on the wall.
