How to Get Creases Out of Linens for a Wedding
Linen is an elegant textile that's labor intensive to both create and care for. Due to its chemical makeup, linen is thin but strong, resists stretching and absorbs moisture without feeling damp. The negative side to these properties is that linen wrinkles and creases more easily than other fabrics. When you need to remove creases from linens for a wedding, take care to iron them out properly to prevent permanent damage.

1
Hand wash your linens. Fill your bathtub with lukewarm water. Use mild soap or laundry detergent without scents or harsh chemicals. Work the soap into the linens. Let the linens drip-dry over the bathtub until the dripping stops, making them easier to hang on a clothesline. Resist wringing them out, as this can create creases and wrinkles.

Hang your linens out to dry in direct sunlight on a clothesline. Pin the linens up with clothespins. Let the linens sit in direct sunlight for about 15 minutes. Remove while still damp.

Stretch your linens out on an ironing board. Iron your linens with steam on the medium setting. Let them dry. Use linens immediately, as they will look best directly after being ironed and dried.

Tips & Warnings
Hand washing is better and gentler than machine washing. If you don't have time to hand wash before ironing, use a spray-starch before ironing with steam on medium.
Dark linens should only be ironed on the reverse side to prevent damage.
Always follow the care instructions of the manufacturer of your linens. Instructions vary based on stitching and other production details.
